Street Cleaner
Location: Thurrock
Salary: £13.76 per hour
Hours: Full-time, [Monday to Friday, early morning starts]
Contract: Ongoing assignment
Job Description:
Overview
We are recruiting dedicated and detail-oriented Street Cleaners to work in various area’s of the West Thurrock Borough for the local authority. If you take pride in your work and enjoy creating tidy environments, we would love to hear from you. This is a public facing, community-focused position.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including Litter picking, street cleaning, emptying community bins
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any shortages
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is used properly and maintained in good condition
Requirements
- Previous experience in street cleaning is preferred but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas needing improvement
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties for extended periods
- Knowledge of cleaning products and their safe usage is advantageous
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques
- Driving Licence (preferred, not essential)
