Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and physically fit 3.5 Tonne Delivery Driver to join our client’s busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers alongisde a driver’s mate.
This is a customer-facing role that requires professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle to deliver goods to customers across Basildon.
- Load and unload deliveries, including heavy and bulky items.
- Carry out vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and paperwork is accurately completed.
- Provide excellent customer service at all delivery points.
- Report any delivery issues or vehicle faults promptly.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Previous experience driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle is preferred.
- Physically fit – heavy lifting is required on a daily basis.
- Ability to work as a partnership and manage delivery schedules.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
- Valid manual handling certificate.
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries.
- Knowledge of using route planning or delivery tracking apps/devices.
